Andrea Hartline dreamed of selling antiques online. Selling from her house took up too much space. She needed a home business shed where she could store the antiques, ship efficiently, and run her business professionally.
Andrea wanted a building that was functional, with a charming exterior that fit her business. Researching pre-fab buildings, she was impressed with Ulrich Barns’ great reviews. While she liked the buildings she saw on Ulrich’s website, nothing was quite what she wanted. By combining features of several buildings, she thought she could have the darling cottage of her dreams.
Working with an Ulrich designer, they customized a 16×40 Retreat cabin, adding a porch, dormer, and a cupola, with Ulrich Barns’ signature barn doors at the end. Inside they added a small storage room, bathroom, and loft to one side of the main open area.
Andrea was impressed with the construction team from Ulrich Barns, saying, “They did an amazing job.”
Andrea finished the interior of her home business shed with white shiplap and handmade reproduction vintage light fixtures, with furnishings from old general stores. The whole space is useful for photographing her inventory.
While Andrea’s shed for her home business is highly functional, she says it’s also “my peaceful haven, and I really look forward to coming out here every day.”
“It takes my breath away when I walk in,” Andrea says. “I’m really delighted with the end result.”
